Iraqi tribal elders' rage over MKO supporters

A large number of tribal elders in Mendeli region in Iraq voiced their support for the Iraqi government’s position on the Mujahedin-e Khalq terrorist group, and urged (the government) to close the (MKO) case as soon as possible.

According to a report published by Habilian Association database (families of Iranian terror victims), the tribal elders attended the gathering in al-Hamayel village at the invitation of Neda tribe, a well-known tribe in Iraq.

Sheikh Haitham al-Nadavi one of the speakers of the gathering underlined the Iraqi peoples’ support for the government’s determined position towards the group.

Recalling the disgraceful actions and stance of MKO against the Iraqi Kurds, Sheikh Yayha al-Dalvi said Kurds are furious with the politicians who have forgotten the brutal position of MKO (against Iraqis).

He went on to say that these tribes demand the politicians stand alongside their own people rather than advocate a terrorist cell which has occupied part of Iraq’s soil for nearly three decades.

Sheikh Sami Majul al-Nadavi was another speaker to the gathering who, along with expressing support for the Iraqi government’s firm decision of expelling MKO from Iraq, pointed out the good relations between the two neighboring countries of Iran and Iraq and called for strengthening of bilateral ties due to the two countries’ national interests.
