Iranian ambassador to Iraq Hassan Danaei-Far called remarks of the Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, Adm. Mike Mullen on Iran's meddling in Iraq "lie."

"These comments are repetitious and in current condition they demonstrate the US troubles to draw attention of Iraqi parliament and government to extend its presence in Iraq," he told ISNA.

The United States' most senior military officer has accused Iran of pouring arms into anti-American militias in Iraq.

"I believe Americans are seeking excuse, implementation of Iranophobia plan and eruption of doubt and anxiety among Iraqi politicians and statesmen. They want to pretend that Iraq would be threatened by Iran, if America leaves Iraq."

"These remarks are lie and aim to put the blame on other countries," he added.

Also regarding remarks made by Iraqi Vice President Talal al-Hashimi over recognizing terrorist Mujahidin Khalq Organization (MKO), the ambassador said, "these comments are illogical and in full contradiction with position taken by Iraqi official organizations."
